LIDL chooses Temper for improved energy efficiency

LIDL in the German Lidl & Schwarz group has chosen Temper as HTF in 4 Logistic Centers in Germany.

The Logistic center at Paderborn with 30 000 sqm of storage, daily provides 70 local LIDL shops with deliveries . The Center contains 1 400 sq. m of freeze storing at – 24 °C and 4 400 sq. m of cold store at 0-2 °C. All the refrigeration is produced by natural refrigerants. The medium temp area uses ammonia as refrigerant and Temper-15 as HTF. The Low temp is a CO2 system with improved waste heat defrosting. The defrosting of the air coolers – equipped with double pipings- is done with Temper -40 using waste heat. This is a highly environmental and energy efficient solution for the future.

This concept is installed in Kerpen, Paderborn, Freienbrink (Berlin) and Siek (Hamburg)

Solar panels at Freienbrink helps to keep energy consumption down.
