This installation was converted from glycol and calcium chloride to Temper in 1997. Scan in Skara is one of the largest cooling installation in Sweden. Scan has a long experience from slaughtering and meat processing and is today a part of HKScan.
The HTF system contains 140 m3 of Temper. The cooling system is running at -8ºC with Temper -20. Temper -30 is used for -17ºC, while NH3 was selected as DX for freezing system, the HTF flow is 580 m3/h. The heat recovery effect is of a total of 1,800 kW, 400 kW comes from the compressors oil coolers and warm brine is being produced for defrosting. In total, there are 27 cooling systems in the installation. The total cooling effect is 14.5 MW.
“We have not just achieved lower investment costs. Our HTF also has better thermal properties and is less harmful to people and the environment.”
Fuel oil consumption, thanks to heat recovery, has fallen by 60%, from 2,600 m3 to 1,000 m3 per year! Find Local Distributor
