Corrosion Inhibitor

Traditional corrosion inhibitors create a protective layer up to some micrometer, that works mechanically, and prevent corrosion but it also reduces the heat transfer. The Temper corrosion inhibitor package is, on the other hand, of the adsorption type, which is the newest and probably the best type of inhibitors available.

Temper corrosion inhibitor creates, and only when necessary, a local temporary protective films with a minimal (monomolecular) thickness, which still allows optimum heat transfer (see figure). Later when the electrical diversion is reduced, the Temper corrosion inhibitors return to the fluid without being consumed but ready to protect at the next diversion (pre-state) that will occur. The Temper corrosion inhibitors are chemically selective to construction metals and are not interfered by other ions or non-construction metals such as for instance potassium. Temper corrosion inhibitor contains of course no environmentally hazardous components.

Analyzes of the system in terms of corrosion is very easy when using Temper. Since the Temper corrosion inhibitors are dissolved in the fluid, you may easily through analyzing the inhibitor concentration decide whether the system is OK or not.

Environment & Health

Environment

Te mper is an environmentally adapted heat transfer fluid which fulfils high environmental requirements. Temper is readily biodegradble. This means that 97% of the Temper fluid will be consumed after 7 days. Compared to glycols, where only 70-85% is consumed after 28 days. Temper is therefore classified as non-hazardous to health and the environment and does not contain any amines, nitrites or phosphates. Compared to glycol, Temper can be diluted (50% water) and poured down the drain. Always consult the local sewage work before pouring out large quantities. Temper is not only an environmentally friendly product, the use of Temper means less energy consumption in compressors, pumps etc. due to its good thermal properties.

Health

Temper is non-toxic and can be used in refrigerating plants within the food sector. Temper is neutral (pH 8-9) and does not require any special handling or storage

Advantage

Non-toxic

Temper is non-toxic and can be used in most food refrigeration applications. In fact, the main raw material is a standard additive for preserving food, potassium acetate (E261).

Low viscosity

The low viscosity of Temper especially at lower temperatures significantly reduces the energy consumption of the plant due to smaller pumps.

Readilybiodegradable

Temper is biologically decomposable and non-toxic which minimizes the effect on the environment. Furthermore, Temper does not contain any amines, nitrites or phosphates.

High heat transfer capabilities

Due to Temper’s excellent thermal properties, the size of pipes and heat exchangers in the installations can be reduced, leading to an energy-efficient installation.

Low Freezing Points

Temper can, due to the low viscosity, be used at low temperatures down to -60°C.

Chemically Stable

No biological degradation of Temper in the system means that you do not need to change the Temper fluid -as often happen with glycol systems.

Reduced installation cost

Due to low viscosity and high heat transfer smaller components can be used, such as pipes, pumps and heat exchangers.
